Farmer Browns cows love to type. The only thing he hears all day is “Click, Clack, Moo.” He doesn’t believe they can type. Until the cows left a note for him on the barn! The cows ask Farmer Brown for electric blankets, Farmer Brown responds with “No way!” then the cows go on strike. Every day, the cows leave a message for Farmer Brown telling him there is no milk or eggs, and everything else! Farmer Brown gets out his typewriter and proceeds to write to the cows and hens, demanding them for milk and eggs. The cows decide to give up their typewriter for blankets, and Farmer Brown agrees. While he was waiting for the duck to bring him the typewriter, the next morning he wakes up to a note from the ducks. Now Farmer Duck has to give the animals another thing that they want! Can you guess what it is?

This is such a fun book for young children! Obviously, it is un-realistic for animals to demand items using a typewriter, but it is a funny way for children to understand things that animals may need. For example, cows could get cold while being in a barn on cold nights, it is important to provide them with proper heat or blankets. Even hens and their eggs! Now as for ducks, they definitely do not need a diving board for the pond. But it wouldn’t hurt!

I give this book a four out of five stars. Again, with the un-realistic demands from animals and the use of a typewriter. Although, the illustrations are so fun, and this would be fun to read to my students as a teacher. I could do so many different voices with this text! I will definitely use this book in my future classroom.
